Yesssss Sali - "After the Party" was hands down best TV I've watched all year - the shock of seeing a non-filtered female protagonist in mid-life being brave and brilliant (and who incidentally didn't mention menopause once, as a driver for her actions) - Robin's performance, and the series itself, right up there with Kate Winslet in Mare of Eastown and Sarah Lancashire in Happy Valley xx

I love Sarah Lancashire, I think I need to give Mare of Easton another go

Hi ladies, can I ask how you store the jumpers as I’m nervous that they need lots of looking after so you don’t end up with holes?

I air mine out after wearing, then fold and keep in a sealed cashmere bag with a cedar ball

Happy New Year!

I'm sorry to be a little late to the party but I just saw this post and need to ask something: the black trousers you are wearing on the bottom right picture (with the green jumper), would you please please please please share where did you find them)? I have been looking for wide leg trousers that are not high or super high rise and these look just perfect. THANK YOU!

You write so well about everything. Love the favourites but just love reading your stuff (and columns, books etc). Something about these Substack posts tho - so good.

Thank you as ever. My top tip for Uniqlo socks if you have small feet is the kids range. I’m size 4 and trekked for weeks in the Himalayas wearing their kids socks and they were perfect (was not just wearing socks I should add…)

Love Bella Freud’s podcast too, you described it perfectly.

For my 40th (now 47) I ordered a leather jacket from MT, reason was I bought for my 30th a military style coat there which is still going strong & still admired. The leather jacket is v similar to yours so is probably a previous reincarnation. It is simple & classically timeless, butter soft & isn’t aging. So worth the money!!!

Thank you for all this. Checked out the Dutti mens leather jackets too and they look tempting

I LOVED 'After the party'. Robyn is just brilliant as is 'Top of the Lake'. I lived in NZ for a number of years as when I was 14 my parents emigrated there. I moved back but my sister stayed. Kiwis are cool people

Always love your favourites columns, Sali. I’m already a big fan of the Uniqlo jumpers, but I’m now asking myself why I never thought to look at the men’s section. Perfect for slightly slouchier, and maybe their turtleneck will fit better. I agree that the wonen’s one is too tight.

And now I’m lusting after that leather jacket…

Clinique Superbalm was rebranded as part of the Moisture Surge range, thank god. They took the opportunity to increase the price at the time mind.
